Netdrive 3 latest update gives access denied on registry

Windows/Mac Version: 10

I got a prompt yesterday asking me if I would like to install the latest update. I’ve had bad experiences with Netdrive in the past and always had to revert to version 3.3.349 which was the first version I downloaded. Since yesterday’s update I get an access denied error on a registry key that ends with ‘Run’. I’ve uninstalled this update again and am now back on 3.3.349.

Whilst trying to update to NetDrive 3. I got the following error: “0x8007005 - error opening hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentVersion\run: Access is denied” I uninstalled NetDrive program using the win 10 uninstaller and tried reinstalling but this error message still pops up. I can’t even install NetDrive too anymore despite having paid for both. Can you please tell me how install Net Drive 3 when I get this error?

NetDrive_Setup error on boot - Registry Access is denied

It seems that there is something left in registry which tries to access the key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. If you can use regedit.exe please remove an entry under following position. You can find a registry entry which contains NetDrive3_Setup_3.1.234.exe file name. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

As a matter of fact. Uninstalling 3.5.431 doesn’t stop the error from appearing. It’s pretty persistent after each boot now.

There is another location where NetDrive setup adds RunOnce entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
