NetDrive 3 installation leads to Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with Windows 11

Installing NetDrive 2 or Netdrive 3 on a new Windows 11 PC (Windows11 Home, v 10.0.22621 Build 22621) results in BSOD with Stop Code : SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL for failure in NETIO.SYS.

I have a clean install of Windows 11 and get the same issue with both NetDrive 2, and NetDrive 3. NetDrive 2 installation gives an error that something is missing and the program cannot start, and then results in BSOD.

When installing NetDrive 3 (NetDrive3_Setup-3.17.976) on a fresh windows 11 system, there is a notification message that the file explorer could not be restarted during installation, and that a restart of the computer is required after completion of the installation. Otherwise the installation appeared to be successful. After restart, launching NetDrive 3 will give a BSOD with the message above. Logging into Windows will again give a BSOD as NetDrive is automatically launched at startup.

Dear simoni_mark,

I think it’s a CBFS issue. We are implementing a new filesystem. Could you try installing the version below?
