I cannot connect via Netdrive to my remote synology server.
I could connect before, as we have upgraded our firewall. I have opened port 5006 port forward onto our synology server on it, from outside it shows me the port is open.
Thank you for your message. If you are receiving an “Access Denied” error when connecting to your Synology NAS via NetDrive, please check the following items:
User account permissions
Make sure the account you are using has access to the WebDAV service and proper read/write permissions for the shared folder on your NAS.
WebDAV service status
Go to Synology Control Panel > Application Portal > WebDAV and ensure that HTTPS (port 5006) is enabled and running.
External access restrictions
Check whether the NAS has firewall settings, auto-block, or IP access restrictions that might be blocking external access.
Correct NetDrive connection settings
Confirm that the URL is entered correctly, e.g., https://your.domain.com:5006/, and verify that the username and password are correct and current.
For more guidance, please refer to our official manual, especially the section titled “Checklist for Synology NAS WebDAV connection issues” of Synology NAS: NetDrive | Mount your storage as local drive
If the issue persists after checking the above, please send us a screenshot of the error and/or your NetDrive log file so we can assist you further.
We’re glad to hear that everything is working now!
If you have any further questions or run into any other issues while using NetDrive, please feel free to reach out.
