Using Synology NAS with Teams

Hi, we use a Synology NAS at our office and our Sales team has access via another program. We are comparing NetDrive 3 with Teams and I have some questions. Can teams use a folder on the Synology NAS or does it have to be a cloud drive? What are some of the advantages of using Teams vs NetDrive?
